Yoga Teacher Training Course
At Sthira Chitta Yoga the focus is on working at all the dimensions of Yoga and integrating them in the practices, both on and off the mat.
When teaching the Asanas (Postures) the focus is not just on alignments, flexibility and stamina but how the posture becomes meditative in nature through complete absorption on the breath and body awareness. The practice of Shatkarmas (Cleansing Techniques) and Pranayamas (Breathing Techniques) are integrated to further strengthen the practices as well as are practiced individually. The Yoga practices are accompanied by Bandhas (Locks), Mudras (Physical Gesture) and Relaxation techniques. The study of Human Anatomy and Physiology in context to Yoga, Ayurveda, Yoga Therapy, Chakras, Sanskrit, Mantras and Chanting gives an in-depth understanding of the various dimensions of Yoga. The Yoga Philosophy – Yoga Sutras of Maharishi Patanjali, Hatha Yoga texts (Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Gheranda Samhita, Shiva Samhita) and Bhagwad Gita makes the understanding of self, deeper. All this creates a stronger ground for Pratyahara (Control of Senses), Dharna (One-Pointedness) and Dhyana (Meditation) which is further guided and practiced. And finally how to put all this knowledge across in teaching is taught in the Teaching Methodology class.
